Kumanovo, 20 April 2024 (MIA) — Oliver Spasovski, head of the SDSM and Coalition for European Future list of MP candidates from the Second Electoral District, presented Saturday their election platform focusing on new measures for developing the energy sector, MIA's Kumanovo correspondent reports.

"The energy sector overcame the crisis safely despite the announced apocalypse and the active blockade of Parliament by the opposition," Spasovski said, adding that SDSM did not allow any price increases and protected the living standard of citizens by subsidizing power bills up to 90 percent for over 600,000 households.

"We will keep fighting against energy poverty through even greater support for vulnerable categories of citizens through new financial and non-financial measures," he said.

"SDSM did not spend money on grandiose monuments that would stand witness to some ruling power. We invested in domestic electricity production, which we increased by 45 percent," Spasovski said.

He pointed out that the country's EU membership would bring environmental, social and economic benefits. "There is no other option. Everything else leads to a dead end, so we are not giving up on the EU," he said. mr/
