Spasovski: Entrusted to organise OSCE Summit represents acknowledgment for North Macedonia

Skopje, 30 November 2023 (MIA) – The security in Skopje for today’s OSCE Summit has been raised to a high level, all capacities of the Ministry of Interior have been made available, ensuring the smooth conduct of the event. The OSCE Ministerial Council is a significant and complex event, and the entrusted organization represents acknowledgment for the Republic of North Macedonia, for all that has been achieved during the past year of its presidency in Skopje, requiring substantial commitment and dedication, Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski said in an interview to Kosovo-online.com.

“Macedonia approached the resolution of disputes with Greece and Bulgaria in the best possible way, and we reached an agreement on the recognition of the Macedonian Orthodox Church. All of this shows that there is a high level of credibility, a high degree of democratic values present in North Macedonia, and the OSCE Summit represents additional recognition for us. Macedonia, over the past 12 months and since its independence, has shown that results can be achieved through dialogue,” Spasovski noted.

He expects the event to proceed in the best possible manner.

“I am confident that we will meet all the expectations set before us, and in the end, we will have a conclusion that once again demonstrates the strength of North Macedonia. We are witnessing significant geopolitical changes, with a war in Europe whose outcome is unpredictable, and conflicts in Gaza. All of this underscores the need for a strong message of peace from this event,” Spasovski said.

Spasovski explained that the Macedonian Ministry of Interior has mobilized all its capacities, including the uniformed police, the Department for the Protection of Certain Persons and Objects, the Department for Special Police Operations, the Air Unit, a team from the Skopje Police Department, and the Department for Combating Organized and Serious Crime…

“But most importantly, everything should proceed in the best possible way, preserving public order and the peace and security of the citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia,” Spasovski told Kosovo-online.com.
