Skopje, 3 February 2023 (MIA) - Anyone who even thinks of insulting the Macedonian state and people in any way, be it through posters or flags of other countries, will be prevented from doing this and will bear the consequences, says Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski on the tensions ahead of Saturday's observance of the 151st anniversary from the birth of Macedonian revolutionary Goce Delchev.

Minister Spasovski told Kanal 5 that the Ministry of Interior has implemented measures in order to prevent any incidents at tomorrow's observance, thus thwarting radical structures.

He adds that all registered delegations would be allowed access to Delchev's grave, while urging for a dignified commemoration.

"I reaffirm my call to all citizens for a dignified observance, especially to all patriotic institutes and associations, which should give up on the ideas that could disrupt public order and the country's security. No night guards, no patrols, there is no need for this, because the Macedonian police is here to guarantee peace and security," says Spasovski.

He says the unity of the Macedonian citizens is what the country needs as the best weapon for protection of its self-awareness, language, culture and tradition.

"If such unity exists in the realization of our strategic objectives, then no outside person or group can harm us," concludes Spasovski.
