Skopje, 1 March 2023 (MIA) - Montenegro is one of North Macedonia's most brotherly countries and closest partners, and I am confident that we will continue to nurture and deepen relations in the interest of all our citizens, Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski said after Wednesday's meeting with Montenegrin Prime Minister Dritan Abazović.

"Of course, special thanks for the support on the European integration path, we continue together towards creating a prosperous region, as NATO allies and future EU members," Spasovski posted on Facebook. 

The Interior Minister said he and Abazović have discussed about commitments to strengthening cooperation towards prosperity of the entire region. 

"In terms of international activities of the Ministries of Interior of the two countries, we can note excellent bilateral and operational cooperation, which has been going on for years, particularly in the area of suppression of organized crime and corruption, prevention of illegal migration, cyber crime, etc., while at an interstate level it is also expressed through a commitment to improve and develop regional cooperation in all segments of social life," said Spasovski.
