Tirana, 14 September 2023 (MIA) – Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski is participating in the Home Affairs Ministerial Conference, held within the frameworks of the Berlin Process in Tirana, which kicked off on Thursday. Ahead of the beginning of the Conference, Spasovski held a working meeting with the United Kingdom’s Minister for Immigration, Robert Jenrick.

“The two ministers spoke about the issue of migration and its flows, as well as about migrant smuggling, concluding that they must jointly work and cooperate, in order to successfully manage migration. At the meeting, they also spoke about organized crime, and dealing with cyber threats,” said the Ministry of Interior in a press release.

Spasovski and Jenrick agreed that there is no room for improvisation when it comes to topics like these, and that only through joint cooperation and support for platforms like the Berlin Process can all challenges be addressed swiftly, efficiently and effectively.

On Wednesday, Interior Minister Spasovski met with the host, his Albanian counterpart, Taulant Balla.

At the conference, Spasovski will address sessions on integrated border management in the Western Balkans, regional cooperation in the fight against organized crime, and a partnership for the cybersecurity of the Western Balkans.
