Sound of Skopje Festival resumes with music and theatre performances

Skopje, 17 September 2022 (MIA) – The open-air Sound of Skopje Festival is to resume Saturday offering music and theater performances, poetry readings, and art shows not only at the Old Bazaar but also at other locations, including Mother Teresa square and Ibni Pajko park.

Ljubojna, Tony Kitanovski and Cherkezi, Blah, Blah, Blah, Foolish Green, and Bruka Band will perform in front of the Philharmonic, and Baklava, Dorijan and Dobrila, and Perija will perform in Ibni Pajko park.

Also in the park, a poetry reading will take place as well as a performance of the children’s play “Kuferko, the World Traveler from Macedonia.” The audience will also have the chance to see an exhibition of collages by Igor Kalc, organizers say.

According to them, Sounds of the Bazaar had been held for 16 years to revive the Old Bazaar as a cultural hub. “Having fulfilled its role,” organizers add, “now the [Sound of Skopje] festival is moving to some other venues in the city that should be culturally revived.” mr/sk/
