Solid credit support in first half of 2022, favorable interest rates maintained: central bank

Skopje, 21 July 2022 (MIA) – Solid rise of bank crediting of the private sector resumed in June, increasing by one percent compared to the previous month and by 10 percent year-on-year, which is higher than projections, the National Bank said on Thursday.
The annual credit rise of the corporate sector continued to accelerate, reaching 12.4 percent, which ensures significant financial support for the real sector. Household loans have also recorded a rise of 7.7 percent, the central bank said in a press release.
Favorable loan interest rates have been maintained, with the average rate in May for the corporate sector standing at 3.43 percent, and that for households at 5.06 percent.
Total deposits of the private sector in June increased by 0.4 percent compared to the previous month and 1.8 percent year-on-year. In addition, household deposits have risen by one percent compared to May and 5.2 year-on-year, reads the press release.
