Skopje’s new mayor Danela Arsovska takes office
Skopje, 8 November 2021 (MIA) – Danela Arsovska, who was elected as the new mayor of the capital Skopje in the October local elections, arrived Monday at the City of Skopje’s offices to take over from outgoing mayor Petre Shilegov. After the takeover, only Shilegov spoke to members of the media saying he had briefed Arsovska on how the city is run. “I expect that she will learn the city’s management, which is a complex one in many spheres, but the team that remains is very professional. I expect the team to help her do her job successfully,” stated Shilegov Arsovska’s team said the new Skopje mayor will speak to journalists in the coming days. Furthermore, Shilegov, a member of SDSM, commented on latest political developments over the weekend involving a new majority in Parliament calling it “an attempt to stay somehow in the political game.” He revealed that SDSM’s executive board will meet this week to “settle many of the issues.”
