Skopje, 13 November 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia’s capital celebrates Sunday its Liberation Day. A government delegation, consisting of Justice Minister Nikola Tupancheski and Minister of Local Self-Government Risto Penov, and a parliamentary delegation, led by its Vice President Goran Misovski, will lay wreaths at the Butel Partisan Cemeteries, the Alley of Distinguished Citizens in Butel and on the monument dedicated to the liberators of Skopje in front of the government building. The Karposh Children's Cultural Center is hosting the annual event marking the Liberation Day, which includes preschool children and aims at promoting their creativity and helping them learn more about the Skopje Liberation Day. Starting at noon, the event will take place online  A night street race will also be held to mark the Skopje holiday from 4:30 pm until 7 pm. As a result, traffic will be rerouted. On Nov. 13, 1944, the soldiers of the 42nd and 50th division of the National Liberation Army and the 16. Macedonian brigade liberated Skopje from fascist rule.
