Skopje, 19 September 2024 (MIA) - Health Minister Arben Taravari said Thursday they are contemplating a transfer of the modular hospital located near the Skopje-based Clinic for Infectious Diseases to the Ministry of Defense (MoD) or the Izdirovo penitentiary.

Minister Taravari said there is a government decision for the hospital's takeover by the MoD while adding that the Idrizovo penitentiary also needs an infirmary.

"There is already a government decision for a MoD takeover but also an idea for it to serve as an infirmary in Idrizovo. We are now contemplating which option to take," Taravari told reporters.

Modular hospitals were assembled in 16 cities across the country during the Covid-19 pandemic.
