Skopje hosts Open Day event to mark 4 years of North Macedonia’s NATO membership and Alliance’s 75th anniversary

Skopje, 23 March 2024 (MIA) – An Open Day of the Army took place at Army Stadium in the City Park in Skopje on Saturday to mark country’s fourth anniversary of joining NATO and the 75th anniversary of the Alliance.

The event was also attended by the President Stevo Pendarovski.

Skopje residents had the opportunity to attend an Open Day of the Army featuring a display of the skills and military equipment of the special forces, as well as a military band performance.

The Army members acquainted the citizens with the technical specifications of some of the armaments and equipment of infantry units, the NBC (nuclear, biological and chemical) defence unit, military police, special forces, communication units, engineering units and different types of military vehicles.

The event also included display of JLTV and Cobra armoured vehicles, MI/17 military helicopters, and an explosive device detection robot.

Moreover, the “General Mihailo Apostolski” Military Academy showcased its programmes and study opportunities at the academy.
