Skopje and Prilep schools receive bomb threats

Skopje and Prilep schools receive bomb threats

Skopje, 20 February 2023 (MIA) – Eight schools in Skopje and two schools in Prilep have received emailed bomb threats on Monday.

"Skopje police said that around 9:30 am on Monday, eight schools in Skopje, as well as two schools in Prilep reported receiving bomb threats via email," the Ministry of Interior said in a press release.

After receiving the reports, adds the press release, police officers took measures to safely evacuate the facilities and anti-terrorist checks are underway.

According to MIA sources, "Josip Broz Tito" and "Nikola Karev" high schools and "Mihajlo Pupin" electrotechnical high school are among the Skopje schools that are being evacuated.

Bomb threats that several schools in Skopje, Prilep and Kumanovo reported last week were determined to be false following police checks, the Ministry of Interior said.
