Kumanovo/Strumica, 22 July 2024 (MIA) — Travellers crossing the border into the country at Tabanovce and leaving the country via the Bogorodica border crossing can expect to wait an hour on average, according to the Ministry of Interior.

According to latest official figures, over the July 19–21 weekend, 26,063 passengers entered the country at Tabanovce, and 22,715 passengers exited the country at Bogorodica.

According to the MoI, wait times range from 45 minutes at Old Dojran border crossing to 60 minutes at Bogorodica. The latter border crossing has five exit lanes and the former has two. At Tabanovce, five entry lanes are open and the expected wait time to cross the border is approximately an hour.

Between Jan. 1 and July 15, 2023, the number of passengers leaving the country at Bogorodica border crossing was 724,840. During the same period this year, the number of passengers leaving the Republic of North Macedonia at Bogorodica rose by around 25,000 to total 750,812. mr/
