Skopje, 14 May 2024 (MIA) - Justice Minister Krenar Lloga told Sloboden Pechat in an interview that Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova's failure to use the country's constitutional name at the swearing-in ceremony is a “bad example from an official and a constitutional law professor”, he said he expects Siljanovska-Davkova to correct herself in the future.

According to Lloga, Siljanovska-Davkova's attitude towards the Constitution and the constitutional name, could encourage other individuals or groups to disrespect the country’s constitutional name in the future.

“For example, when we are swearing-in police officers, members of the Army, and others, some people will swear their allegiance to the Republic of North Macedonia, others might say some other term. She says she signed a document containing the constitutional name, but then what’s the logic behind the swearing-in ceremony in front of 120 MPs and the temple of democracy which you don’t respect, since it’s the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia,” Lloga told Sloboden Pechat.

Lloga said he expects Siljanovska-Davkova to correct herself, but the damage has been done, he said.

“I expect this bad move to be corrected, we are seeing some backpedalling from her now, but that’s only happening now, two days after we were attacked by all our allies and neighbors, and that wasn’t a good beginning of her term,” Lloga assessed.
