Siljanovska-Davkova meets Marmara Group Foundation President Akkan Suver

Skopje, 4 March 2026 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met with Akkan Suver, President of the Marmara Group Foundation, to discuss the foundation’s activities, its role in fostering international cooperation and regional dialogue, and prospects for enhancing North Macedonia–Turkey relations. The foundation is organizing the Eurasian Economic Summit in Istanbul this May.

The President’s Office stated that she underlined Turkey’s support for North Macedonia since its independence and noted the important role of the Turkish community in the country, calling it a bridge for cooperation between the two states.

Focus was placed on the 29th Eurasian Economic Summit, to be held in May in Istanbul and organized by the Marmara Group Foundation. Siljanovska-Davkova said the summit is an important international platform bringing together politicians, academics, business leaders, civil society groups, and religious representatives. This year’s theme, “Global Responsibility,” aims to help address political, security, economic, environmental, and moral challenges in today’s world, according to the President Office’s press release.

She also underscored the role of the summit as an opportunity for Macedonian companies to present themselves to Turkish partners and establish new economic relations. They also exchanged views on the current situation in the Middle East.
