Skopje, 13 April 2024 (MIA) - VMRO-DPMNE presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska Davkova presented her programme at a rally in the Skopje municipality of Karposh, urging women to be increasingly involved in politics and help the country through their commitment and sacrifice.

"I must encourage women to be involved in politics. Macedonia should not give up its fifty percent of knowledge, creation and commitment," said Siljanovska Davkova.

She added that one of her top priorities is good education, noting there is no better investment than this.

"I will set up a youth council in my presidential office. Enough with the words that the future belongs to the youth, they must also take the present in their hands. We must put an end to this hybrid regime and make a step forward," said Siljanovska Davkova.

On the European Union, she said reforms and accession should not only be words on paper but the country should itself set the required standards at home, while noting that the Union is also to blame for not extending its hand earlier.

"Imagine if they did this back in 2008. By failing to do this, they encouraged the Balkan cannibals, the people who behave as caesars and bonapartas," said Siljanovska Davkova.

VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said incumbent President Stevo Pendarovski was nowhere to be seen over the past five years.

"He is bragging that he has solved thousands of problems. Why doesn't Pendarovski list not a 1,000 but one problem he has solved, and I can list ten others he created," said Mickoski. 

He said the people have a chance to go out and vote in masses on April 24, supporting Gordana Siljanovska Davkova and helping Pendarovski pack his suitcases.

"And then go out even stronger on May 8 and make Macedonia not only proud but also your, our Macedonia," stressed Mickoski.

Earlier in the day, the VMRO-DPMNE presidential caravan made campaign stops in Butel and Zelenikovo.
