Bitola, 8 April 2024 (MIA) – Those who claim we will be isolated if we come to power should show who is supporting them at these elections, said VMRO-DPMNE-backed presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska Davkova at a rally in Bitola on Monday.
"I am hearing these days that the country would be isolated if I became president and Mr.Mickoski assumed the PM’s post. What an interesting phenomenon! I ask those who claim we are isolated, who is supporting them at these elections," said Siljanovska Davkova.
She said European People’s Party legend Doris Pack has provided her support.
"Swedish MP Margareta Cederfelt has also joined us. In Bucharest, Hristijan Mickoski spoke on the stage alongside Mrs.von der Leyen and other European leaders. Who is isolated? Is it the one who cannot enter the room with their own parties or the one who speaks about Macedonia’s European future at the EPP summit,” said Siljanovska Davkova.
She promised more women would be hired in her office, not because of quotas but to show men they are giving up on knowledge, creation and commitment.
“With a lady president, women will identify with her and will not only be successful in their families but also in their work and politics,” said Siljanovska Davkova.
VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said (SDSM-backed presidential candidate Stevo) Pendarovski was afraid of a duel with himself, let alone one with Siljanovska Davkova.
“Pendarovski is arrogant and we should get the impression that he is a novice in politics, not one who will not be remembered by one thing over the past five years as head of state. He is a tourist in his own country,” said Mickoski.
Earlier in the day, presidential hopeful Siljanovska Davkova also held rallies in Novaci and Demir Hisar.
