Skopje, 1 June 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova met on Saturday with the Macedonian middle and long-distance runner, Dario Ivanovski, in Ohrid. Ivanovski is set to compete Sunday at the 8th edition of the Ohrid Running Weekend.

As stated in a press release of the President's Office, Siljanovska Davkova extended congratulations to the top Macedonian athlete, Dario Ivanovski, and his coach, Major Igor Jakimovski, for qualification for this year's Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

Ivanovski briefed the President on his preparations for the Olympic Games in Paris.

Siljanovska Davkova underscored that the successes of Macedonian athletes are a source of great pride for the entire country, stressing the need to support our most successful representatives in all areas. Highlighting the importance of sports and physical culture for the nation's health, internal unity, and external promotion of the country, she wished Ivanovski great success at the Olympic Games and in his future career.

Ivanovski is one of the top Balkan athletes, holding numerous Macedonian and Balkan records. He is currently the only Macedonian athlete confirmed to compete at the Summer Olympic Games.
