Skopje, 23 October 2024 (MIA) – President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova has sent a greeting congratulating the citizens on the Day of the Macedonian Revolutionary Struggle – October 23. 

“The idea guiding the founding fathers of the Macedonian revolutionary organization, who with their vision had started the thorny path toward political autonomy, evolved and upgraded over the years. The result is an independent Macedonian state facing new challenges,” says Siljanovska Davkova.

Celebrating the Day of the Macedonian Revolutionary Struggle, she adds, may we remember all sung and unsung heroes and their ideals and sacrifice.

“Today, while living their dream, we must not forget that the statehood was hard-won, it wasn’t gifted to us and we should safeguard it with democratic instruments instead of weapons, like in some past times. Let’s take care of the homeland and guard it because we haven’t got a reserved one! Let’s respect each other because there is no Macedonian state without us. Let’s leave it to our descendants as it was left to us by the Macedonian revolutionaries,” says President Siljanovska Davkova.
