Skopje, 15 May 2023 (MIA) - How to improve safety mechanisms in schools and prevent peer violence was the topic in the focus of a conference organized on Monday by the International University in Struga, with Minister of Education and Science Jeton Shaqiri, as well as several representatives of the academic and expert community in attendance, the Ministry of Education and Science said in a press release. 

Minister Shaqiri pointed out that the Ministry of Education and Science has drafted specific recommendations for schools in order to preserve a peaceful environment and to deal with peer violence if detected. He noted that the recommendations will be discussed at a government session on Tuesday.

"It is good that many parties got involved with their suggestions and thoughts, including the International University in Struga, and I believe that what will be adopted as final, will have a good effect if it is fully respected by all those it concerns," Shaqiri said, adding that consultations for the development of a comprehensive protocol and manuals for schools continue in parallel.
