Skopje, 6 October 2023 (MIA) - Reforms in elementary education are successfully implemented and the challenges that the Ministry of Education and Science has faced in the past few years have been overcome on the go, Minister Jeton Shaqiri told USAID Country Representative Jeri Dible on Friday.

Minister Shaqiri said building quality education for every child is a large-scale activity that involves both the Education Development Bureau and the Pedagogical Service, the Ministry of Education and Science said in a press release.

Shaqiri thanked Dible for USAID's strong support in a number of projects that aim to strengthen the education system.

USAID has provided significant financial support focused on media literacy, teacher training, youth activism. Special attention is given to activities related to inclusion of children with special education needs in the regular education system.

In addition, Shaqiri highlighted USAID's support for the construction and rehabilitation of school buildings and the provision of equipment and props.

Interlocutors agreed that investment in education is the best way to build generations who will lead the society to progress, reads the press release.
