Skopje, 18 September 2022 (MIA) - Minister of Education and Science Jeton Shaqiri is attending the Transforming Education Summit taking place in New York on Sunday. The Summit provides a unique opportunity to elevate education to the top of the global political agenda and to mobilize action, ambition, solidarity and solutions to recover pandemic-related learning losses and sow the seeds to transform education in a rapidly changing world. According to the Ministry of Education and Science, the Summit opened with a discussion on the topic of the global movement towards the transformation of education, where the importance of solidarity was emphasized, as well as the importance of focusing on the voice of young people. A debate dedicated to intergenerational dialogues was also held, in which young people and political leaders participated, with the aim of enabling participatory dialogues to transform education. The focus of the second day of the Summit is how to ensure a digital future for every child and the necessity of global unification and use a fair digital transformation approach. “In the course of several sessions, talks were focused on actions that need to be taken so that the education systems can be transformed and ensure promotion of development through education for everyone,” Education Ministry said in a press release. In addition, the importance of using digital solutions in providing quality education for every child was emphasized, as a way of continuous access to education for children, young people and teachers. “Young people are the engine of the future of a country, therefore dealing with the challenges of the 21st century and acquiring new knowledge for the advancement of the educational process are always a priority of the Government and the Education Ministry,” reads the press release.
