Serbia’s Vucic to meet with EC President von der Leyen 
Belgrade, 27 October 2022 (MIA) — The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, after visiting Prishtina and Tirana on Thursday, will arrive in Serbia on Friday as part of her tour of the Western Balkans, MIA’s Belgrade correspondent reports. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will meet the EC President at the Nish airport. They will then visit the construction site of the gas pipeline between Serbia and Bulgaria in the town of Jelashnica, an official announcement said. According to local media reports, Vucic and von der Leyen will discuss the energy crisis, Serbia’s alignment with the EU’s foreign and security policy, and the dialogue between Belgrade and Prishtina. Von der Leyen started her Western Balkans tour in North Macedonia, where she announced that the EU had prepared a package of support for the entire Western Balkans to help it deal with the energy crisis. She is leaving Belgrade for Sarajevo on Oct. 28 and will end her visit to the region in Podgorica on Oct. 29. mr/
