Self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk republics name Moscow ambassadors

Self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk republics name Moscow ambassadors
Around two and a half months after their recognition by Russia, the self-proclaimed eastern Ukrainian People's Republics of Donetsk and Luhansk have nominated ambassadors to Moscow. The pro-Russian separatists from Donetsk announced that their interests in Moscow will be represented in the future by politician Olga Makeyeva. Luhansk is sending former journalist Rodion Miroschnik, who years ago worked for then-Russia-affiliated Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. Three days after recognizing the breakaway republics, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin ordered the attack on Ukraine. After the failure to conquer Kiev, Russia's war effort is now focusing on shoring up and extending the Russian separatist areas in eastern Ukraine.
