Second day of intensive Open Balkan agenda in Tirana
Skopje, 26 July 2022 (MIA) – The work of the intergovernmental groups and chambers of commerce from Open Balkan countries continued Tuesday in Tirana, with the focus being on management and rapid response in case of disasters or accidents, food shortage or energy crisis. “During a global economic and energy crisis, regional connection with the goal of increasing energy stability is the main focus of the Government of North Macedonia, this goal is shared by our partners and friends from the region. Our mutual priority is a regional energy connection, increasing energy capacities as well as a secure and stable supply of fuels for our citizens,” said the Government in a press release. The three countries, according to the press release, agreed that securing food during a global crisis is a challenge and a priority, which is why North Macedonia, Serbia and Albania are creating mechanisms for mutual aid. “Additionally, today in Tirana a meeting, organized by the Minister of Agriculture of Albania, Frida Krifca, will be held between the representatives of the three countries and Albanian buyers and distributors in order to consider new opportunities for the import and export of sugar, cooking oil, flour and salt in the region, under conditions favorable for the Macedonian, Serbian and the Albanian economy,” the press release said. ad/ba/
