SEC: Voter turnout for municipal elections 34.41% in Mavrovo-Rostushe; 32.88% in Centar Zhupa
Skopje, 20 August 2022 (MIA) – Voter turnout for Saturday’s municipal elections by 3 pm in the Municipality of Mavrovo and Rostushe was 34.41% and 32.88% in the Municipality of Centar Zhupa. Voter turnout in the city of Tetovo, which votes for members of the municipal council, was 21.3% by 3 pm, said the State Election Commission (SEC). A total of 101,174 voters are eligible to vote, including 84,072 in Tetovo, 7,154 in Centar Zhupa and 9,948 in Mavrovo and Rostushe. 39 polling stations are open in Mavrovo and Rostushe, 16 in Centar Zhupa and 117 polling stations in Tetovo. In Centar Zhupa, voter turnout by 3 pm is higher by 8.69% compared to the repeated elections in April. Only one candidate is running for mayor of Centar Zhupa. In Mavrovo and Rostushe, where two candidates are running for municipal mayor, the voter turnout census of over 34% has been passed by 3 pm.
