SEC: Voter turnout 48.46% by 6:30 pm
- Voter turnout in the first round of the presidential elections is 48.46% by 6:30 pm, according to the State Election Commission’s data from 3,174 polling stations, i.e. 801.074 voters have voted.
Skopje, 24 April 2024 (MIA) - Voter turnout in the first round of the presidential elections is 48.46% by 6:30 pm, according to the State Election Commission’s data from 3,174 polling stations, i.e. 801.074 voters have voted.
SEC President Aleksandar Dashtevski said at a press conference that the highest turnout is in Novaci, where 71.07% have voted, and the lowest in Centar Zupa, with 16.90%.
"The voting proceeded peacefully without major incidents at the polling stations," Dashtevski said.
Extended voting will take place in one location in Demir Hisar, Lipkovo, Mogila, and in Delchevo.
134 complaints regarding voting rights were submitted by citizens. The State Election Commission's free phone line received 10 citizen reports, with an additional eight video calls from individuals with impaired hearing.
At three polling stations in Kumanovo, voting was halted and subsequently closed. The SEC President explained that if the results from these polling stations impact the final result, a re-vote will be conducted.
