SEC: Revote and electoral boards dismissed in seven polling stations

Skopje, 18 May 2024 (MIA) - The State Election Commission (SEC) unanimously adopted Saturday the motion to repeat the parliamentary vote in six polling stations in the fifth election district (two each in Dolneni and Krushevo, one each in Struga and Ohrid) and one polling station in Zhelino in the sixth election district. The revote will take place on Wednesday, May 22.

The SEC also dismissed the chairpersons, members and deputy-members of the electoral boards in the seven polling stations.

The campaign for the revote will last until midnight on Monday.

Commission member Boris Kondarko referred to the Administrative Court ruling to validate the SEC decisions for a revote.

"The Court rulings that validated the SEC decisions for the vote's annulment has proved yet again that regardless of election results, the SEC has proceeded in line with the law and based on insight into the electoral materials. In this way, the SEC has maintained its integrity and contributed to the legal certainty as the foundation of democracy and the country's image. The key message is that despite daily politics, institutions proceed according to their competencies and evidence at disposal," said Kondarko.
