Sarafov: Human error likeliest cause of Serbian bus crash on Trakia highway
Sofia, 15 August 2022 (MIA) – Human error is the leading version of Sunday’s accident with the Serbian bus on the Trakia highway, in which a Serbian bus left the road at the section between Nova Zagora and Stara Zagora and overturned in a ditch, said Borislav Sarafov, deputy chief prosecutor and head of Bulgaria’s national investigation service.   According to Sarafov, human error is the most likely cause of the bus crash, as he ruled out any sudden technical malfunction, MIA’s Sofia correspondent reports. “There are no bumps on the road or on the Trakia highway in Bulgaria, and there were no other obstacles that have caused the bus to swerve,” said Sarafov.   Sarafov reiterated that human error remains the likeliest cause, noting that direct testimonies have been collected from those who were on the bus. “The driver diverted his attention trying to help one of the passengers to adjust a seat,” Sarafov cited.
