Skopje, 29 July 2022 (MIA) - We notice a slight daily increase in newly infected people in the country, Skopje is still a hotspot, i.e. a red zone. However, from the point of view of burden to the system, we are still in the yellow zone, said Health Minister Bekim Sali on Friday.
According to Sali, if one takes into account the current numbers in all the infectious disease departments in the country and the experiences of the past, the situation with the pandemic in the country is still "optimistic".
“I can give a figure of less than 100 patients in all the infectious diseases departments in the country, which for the pandemic, from past experiences, means that we are still in an optimistic, i.e. yellow phase,” he said.
He appeals to citizens with chronic diseases to be vaccinated with the third and fourth dose of the vaccines against Covid-19.
“We are optimistic that there is no burden on the system, we do not have a single patient in intensive care or dependent on oxygen. The clinical picture is very important at the moment, but we should not allow ourselves to cause any complications and that is why I would ask people to be careful when communicating, self-isolation is also important, we will expect recommendations from the commission today,” noted Sali. dk/ik/
