Kiev, 22 October 2024 (dpa/MIA) - At least three people, including a child, were killed in the north-eastern Ukrainian city of Sumy during overnight Russian drone attacks, the region's military administration said on Tuesday.

"In the morning, the enemy struck a multi-storey residential building and critical infrastructure," the administration wrote on Telegram, saying it was assessing the damage.

A total of 25 Russian combat drones were reported to have been shot down.

Ukraine has been defending itself against a full-scale Russian invasion for more than two and a half years. The Sumy region has increasingly become a target of Russian aerial attacks since the Ukrainian advance into the neighbouring Russian region of Kursk in August.
