Skopje, 7 March 2022 (MIA) – Russian Ambassador Sergey Bazdnikin has been summoned to the Foreign Ministry, it was confirmed to MIA. Ambassador Bazdnikin was handed over a verbal note after Russia included North Macedonia in the list of enemy countries, the Ministry told MIA. Earlier today, Russia approved a list of foreign countries and territories “taking unfriendly actions against Russia, its companies and citizens.” The list includes Australia, the UK, the EU countries, Iceland, Canada, Liechtenstein, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, South Korea, San Marino, Andorra, Singapore, the United States, Taiwan, Ukraine, North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Switzerland, Japan, and Micronesia.

The countries and territories mentioned in the list imposed or joined the sanctions against Russia after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The list follows a presidential decree on March 5, 2022. According to the document, the Russian Government, citizens and companies that have foreign currency debts owed to overseas creditors from the list of unfriendly countries will be able to pay them in rubles.
