Russian Ambassador: Kosovo solution should be sought within UN resolution
Prilep, 1 August 2022 (MIA) - A solution to the situation in the north of Kosovo should be sought within the 1244 resolution of the United Nations, Russian Ambassador Sergey Bazdnikin said Monday in Prilep.
Russia is one of the countries that had adopted the 1244 resolution on Kosovo, he mentioned.
"We're convinced that a solution should be sought within that resolution. Any attempt at seeking a solution by violent means never leads to any good," Bazdnikin.
Asked whether peace was soon possible in Ukraine, the Russian Ambassador said his country is prepared for the talks suspended in Istanbul to be renewed.
"We're prepared the talks to be renewed as soon as possible. However, we should know that the more military actions are launched, the harder it will be to come to a solution. But, solution will be always sought during the negotiations," stated Bazdnikin, who was in Prilep today to visit the German cemeteries to lay flowers at the tombs of Russian soldiers killed during WWI.
The Ambassador thanked the Municipality of Prilep for maintaining the monument of the Russian soldiers killed during WWI. The commemoration was also attended by a municipal delegation, led by Mayor Borche Jovcheski.
