Skopje, 18 January 2022 (MIA) – Tuesday’s meeting between the prime ministers of Bulgaria and North Macedonia, Kiril Petkov and Dimitar Kovachevski, in Skopje was welcomed by the former German Minister for Europe and current Bundestag MP, Michael Roth, who posted on his Twitter account that Bulgaria needs to implement the European Human Rights Court’s judgment and to “recognize the Macedonian minority in Bulgaria”. “It’s a very good thing that the new PMs of Bulgaria and North Macedonia are meeting. Just as North Macedonia recognizes the Bulgarian minority, Bulgaria must implement the EHRC’s judgment and recognize the Macedonian minority in Bulgaria. In the EU, no country is allowed to decide on another country’s culture and language,” Roth tweeted.
