Skopje, 17 December 2024 (MIA) - There is a great momentum for enlargement and this is a top priority for the EU. Let's wait for the results of the EU-Western Balkans Summit, said EU Ambassador Michalis Rokas on Tuesday.

"As you know, there is a very important gathering, the EU-Western Balkans Summit. At the same time, I understand there are many bilateral meetings, so let's wait for the results of this important gathering. For the EU, enlargement is a top priority and the new leadership has reiterated that many times. This will allow expedient progress towards EU integration of North Macedonia as well," Ambassador Rokas told reporters.

According to him, everyone in the country must work hard on the Reform Agenda adopted by the Government. 

"I've been in the country for only 3,5 months. What matters now is the great momentum and a moment of opportunity. We have a fantastic agenda ahead of us, the Growth Plan and the Reform Agenda that the Government has adopted. So, instead of making comments, I think it is now in everybody's mindset to work hard, hand in hand with the various ministries and the Ministry of European Affairs, in order to achieve the benchmarks that the Government has set itself for the implementation of the Reform Agenda. I can reiterate the full commitment of the EU Delegation team and member-states here in making this Reform Agenda a success and meeting of the benchmarks in the course of next year," said Rokas.
