Results from investigation into hoax bomb threats to be available soon, says Spasovski
Skopje, 19 November 2022 (MIA) – Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski said results from the investigation into the hoax bomb threats, which have been causing public alarm for a while now, firts by targeting JSP busses and then the high schools, will be available soon.
Spasovski told TV 21’s Click Plus show on Friday that materials are being completed, adding that analyses of the causes are in several directions, from geostrategic, political and economic, i.e. driven by business interests. According to him, given the fact that the purpose of such hybrid attacks is to cause anxiety, mistrust in institutions, spread fear and panic, there should be no speculation, but it is important to wait until all information is received, and facts and evidence are checked and confirmed. As regards findings of the investigation, the Ministry of Interior said, Spasovski noted that it is mostly about VPN addresses, adding that when all checks are completed and facts are established, the perpetrators will be identified, and measures against them will be taken. “We cooperated in the investigation with all our partners, including Interpol, Europol, and all the mechanisms that help in the investigation process. It is certain that there is a motive, and we will see exactly what the motive was,” said Spasovski. The Interior Minister also commented on the equipment and means of work of the police officers. He stressed that all reforms, renovation of facilities, new uniforms and improvements to working conditions in the police, apart from being important for the efficiency of police officers, are equally important for citizens.
