Tel Aviv, 5 November 2023 (dpa/MIA) – At least 30 people have died in an Israeli bomb attack on the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in the centre of the Gaza Strip, according to media reports citing Gaza's Hamas-controlled health authority.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it was evaluating the reports.

Broadcaster Al-Jazeera put the death toll at 45, based on information received from doctors in the area. The reports could not be independently confirmed.

According to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), more than 33,000 people live under impoverished conditions in the camp covering an area of 0.6 square kilometres. Population density is high, and the streets are narrow.
