St. Quiriacus and Julitta
Martyrs of Tarsus. Quiricus was the three-year-old son of Julitta, a noble widow of that city. Arrested for being a Christian, Julitta enraged the Roman magistrate by scratching his face. Her punishment before execution was to watch while Quiricus was beaten to death. Scholars consider this story to be possibly fictitious. Julitta may be based on a Cornish saint named Juliot. Quiricus is called Cyr in France.

St. Nazarius and Celsus
Nazarius was born in the first century in Rome. His father was a pagan Roman army officer and his mother a Christian. Raised a Christian, he was taught religion by Sain Peter the Apostle. Friend and co-worker with Saint Celsus. They were both martyred in the first persecution of Nero. Legend says that when Saint Ambrose of Milan discovered his tomb in 395, Nazarius’s blood was still liquid; relics taken to the basilica of the Apostles in Milan.
