Skopje, 3 June 2022 (MIA) - The labor force in North Macedonia in the first quarter numbered 811,197 persons, of which 691,498 were employed, while 119,699 were unemployed persons, statistics show.

The activity rate in this period was 55.3%, the employment rate was 47.1%, while the unemployment rate was 14.8%, which marks a reduction in terms of the rates in the final quarter of 2021, when it was 15.2%, according to data released Friday by the State Statistical Office.

The data for the first quarter of 2022 were processed using regional demographic distributions by sex and five-year age groups for calibration of the population in accordance with the data from the Census 2021. dk/ba/
