Skopje, 3 October 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Public Administration Goran Minchev met Thursday with his Montenegrin counterpart Marash Dukaj at a conference in Ljubljana. The aim of the meeting, according to the Ministry of Public Administration, was to strengthen cooperation on public administration reform.

According to a press release from the Ministry, the meeting focused on sharing experiences and good practices in public administration reform, good governance and innovative management models.

Both ministers highlighted the importance of deepening and promoting cooperation for the improvement of the efficiency, transparency and responsibility of public services.

Minister Minchev stressed the need for regional partnerships and noted that public administration reform is a cornerstone for good governance and that the sharing of knowledge and expertise with the Montenegrin counterparts can accelerate the modernization of the systems, improve public trust, and aid sustainable development. 

Minister Dukaj welcomed the opportunity to learn from the reform experiences of the Republic of North Macedonia, especially in the areas of digitization and e-governance.

“Montenegro is committed to implementing reforms that will make our public administration more efficient and more transparent. Our cooperation with the Republic of North Macedonia is a significant step towards achieving these goals,” Dukaj said.

The ministers agreed to establish a framework for continued dialogue and cooperation, that will include joint workshops, training programmes and exchange of technical expertise in areas such as human resource management, digitization of the public sector and innovations in delivering services.
