Skopje, 9 May 2023 (MIA) - Public Security Bureau (PSB) head Sasho Tasevski met with Interpol President, Major General Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi at the 50th Interpol European Regional Conference in Ohrid on Tuesday.

The Interpol President expressed gratitude to North Macedonia for hosing the conference, while the PSB chief emphasized it was a great honor for the country to be able to host the event, said the Ministry of Interior (MoI) in a press release.

Interlocutors emphasized that collaboration with Interpol is at a very high level, and the desire for it to deepen in the future, especially when taking into account that transnational crime knows no borders. In order to stand in the way of transnational crime, the two agreed that the already established friendship is aimed at strengthening cooperation against this type of crime.

Al-Raisi stressed that North Macedonia is an example in the region, and paints a good picture of police management.

Tasevski conveyed support from the citizens and Government for North Macedonia's candidacy to host this Conference, which goes in the direction of strengthening the already established partnership, reads the press release. ssh/ik/
