Promotion of Macedonian and Croatian cultural values is our priority, says Kostadinovska-Stojchevska in Zagreb
Skopje, 27 October 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia’s Minister of Culture Bisera Kostadinovska-Stojchevska and her Croatian counterpart Nina Obuljen-Koržinek signed a Cultural Cooperation Program for the period 2022-2025 in Zagreb on Wednesday, with the aim of establishing and developing cooperation between institutions and relevant associations from all areas of culture and art, encouraging and affirming the cultural values of both countries, with an emphasis on young artists.   Minister Kostadinovska-Stojchevska pointed out that the program will enable the two countries to encourage joint co-production projects in the field of performing arts, between theater houses and other related institutions and organizations, adding that direct cooperation between museums and galleries is also planned through exchange of experts, exhibitions, art literature and publications.  “We also agreed on cooperation in the field of production of audiovisual works with the aim of developing film, i.e. cinematographic co-productions, as well as between national film archives and public institutions in the field of audiovisual activity, with the aim of exchanging experience in the field of protection, digitization and availability of film and audiovisual heritage,” Kostadinovska-Stojchevska noted.    Croatia’s Minister Obuljen-Koržinek poined out that many successful cultural projects are being implemented between the two countries, between artists, in theater, music, literature, film and visual arts.   “Our cooperation is visible in all areas of culture and art, as well as in institutional cooperation,” said Obuljen-Koržinek.     The program will also improve cooperation between national archives, libraries and institutions in the field of cultural heritage protection through the exchange of experts in the field of cultural heritage protection.   The two countries will encourage cooperation in the field of culture and art within UNESCO, the Council of Europe and other international organizations and regional initiatives, such as the Council of Ministers of Culture of Southeast Europe, which also means protection and nurturing of the cultural identity of the Croatian and Macedonian national minorities, and in this sense, support will be provided to the institutions that nurture the cultural heritage of the Croatian national minority in the Republic of North Macedonia, i.e. the Macedonian national minority in the Republic of Croatia, said the Ministry of Culture.
