Skopje, 17 July 2023 (MIA) - Member of current DUI faction and MP Izet Mexhiti told MIA that he is launching on Monday a procedure to form a new movement. 

"We haven't thought of a name for the movement yet. The debate is open and we expect proposals from the citizens," Mexhiti told MIA.  

Mexhiti told Albanian Vizion Plus TV on Friday that a typical part will not be formed per se, but a movement that will articulate different way of thinking within the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI). According to him, there will be two political blocs with the Albanians - one ruling and one in opposition, which, he noted, will necessarily produce a greater effect for the Albanians. 

Saraj Mayor and member of the DUI faction, Blerim Bexheti, recently told MIA that together with (Former deputy PM) Musa Xhaferi and (former Gostivar mayor) Nevzat Bejta, he remains part of the DUI faction, pointing out that they are in favor of resolving disagreements within the party. He stressed that they were against the formation of a new political entity, because it would fragment the ethnic Albanian electorate.

"There are differences, we are a faction within DUI, and we want resolution of misunderstandings within the party. Musa Xhaferi, Nevzat Bejta and I are against the formation of a new political party. There is no need to form a new political party," said Bexheti.
