Private Print hosts launch of Dzemiliana Abdulova's

Skopje, 4 July 2023 (MIA) - "A Small Roma Memory Book" authored by young cultural worker Dzemiliana Abdulova had its launch in Skopje on Monday.   

 

The book is a Private Print edition as part of the studio's activities supported by Amsterdam's Prince Claus Fund for Culture and Development. The book launch was held alongside a performance by the author entitled 'Who Are We?".  

 

 

“A Small Roma Memory Book” is a personal collection of texts, statements, images, and selected cultural activity representative of Roma tradition that the author has grown with, as a young cultural worker. Abdulova's book contains an author's text, including statements from artists, designers, and musicians. 

 

It is a bilingual book, written in English and Romani. 

 

 

Dzemiliana Abdulova was born in1997, in Skopje. She studies journalism but defines herself as a cultural worker. She is the President of the Roma Cultural and Media Center "Barikanipe," where she organizes cultural events, publishes books, scientific papers, and creates documentaries about the Roma community focused on Roma women.
