Prilep hospital gets MRI scanner
Prilep, 14 May 2022 (MIA) – Prilep general hospital gets Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner, which will be beneficial for over 120,000 patients from the region.
The MRI scanner was procured by the Ministry of Health using IPA funds, and the hospital invested about Mden 5 million to equip the unit including the cooling system of the MRI scanner, constant maintenance of the room temperature to 23 degrees, and additional equipment.
Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski and Health Minister Bekim Sali attended the event on Saturday.
“After more than 50 years, the hospital receives a modern MRI scanner and will now be able to fulfill its mission to provide quality health care for the population of Prilep, Krushevo and Makedonski Brod and for this entire region, including Kavadarci. Citizens from the municipality of Prilep and the surrounding area will no longer travel to Skopje or Bitola to receive this healthcare service,” Kovachevski said.
“The MRI scanner was procured as part of the IPA funds for our country to address health challenges, and this project continues to be implemented in other health institutions,” Health Minister Sali said.
