President Siljanovska-Davkova receives Ambassador Larsson-Jain

Skopje, 6 June 2024 (MIA) — President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova received Thursday Swedish Ambassador Ami Larsson-Jain for talks on bilateral relations, deepening development cooperation, the country's EU integration process, reform progress, and fulfillment of the Copenhagen criteria.


According to a press release from Siljanovska-Davkova's cabinet, Siljanovska-Davkova and Larsson-Jain welcomed the traditionally good political ties between the two countries, with Siljanovska-Davkova expressing interest in strengthening overall communication and encouraging a more active political dialogue with Sweden at the highest level.

 

 

"President Siljanovska-Davkova thanked Sweden for the continuous and consistent support to the Macedonian European integration as well as for the overall technical assistance in the accession process to the European Union," the press release says.


"She expressed her expectation of further cooperation related to Macedonian strategic goals. She also expressed satisfaction with ongoing development cooperation with Sweden aimed at sharing experiences and strengthening the Macedonian institutions' capacities, especially in the areas of democracy, respect for human rights and the rule of law," the release says.

 

 

At the meeting, the President offered her best wishes on June 6, the National Day of Sweden, and higlighted her readiness to deepen cooperation in all areas with potential. mr/
