Skopje, 15 August 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova adopted a decision Thursday on the participation of part of the members of the Army in dealing with the crisis situation caused by the wildfires across the country.

The decision, according to the President’s Office, is in line with the Law on Crisis Management and is being adopted following the Government’s decision to extend the crisis situation on August 13, 2024.

“The manner and intensity in which members of the Army will aid the other institutions during the firefighting efforts will be determined by the General Staff of the Army in line with the requests of the Crisis Management Center and the situation on the ground,” the President’s Office said in a press release.

According to the latest information provided by the Crisis Management Center, a total of 49 wildfires were reported across the country on Thursday, 12 of which are still active, seven have been placed under control, while 30 have been extinguished.
