Skopje, 5 June 2024 (MIA) — President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova received Wednesday Turkish Ambassador Fatih Ulusoy for talks on bilateral ties, which are traditionally friendly and based on a strategic partnership as part of the NATO, an official press release said.
"President Siljanovska Davkova thanked Turkey on its overall support provided since the first days of Macedonian independence and stressed her commitment to working on further improving relations between the two countries in all spheres of mutual interest," the release said.
According to the release, she also urged the Turkish ambassador to help create the required conditions for boosting business cooperation between the two countries so that trade can increase.
Meeting participants discussed the situation in their countries as well as regional security and political developments. They also talked about the Macedonian European integration challenges, the release said.
President Siljanoska Davkova voiced her expectation that Turkey would continue being a constructive partner and supporter of the country at the bilateral and multilateral level.
The meeting also highlighted the role and contribution of the Turkish community in the overall development of the country. mr/
