Skopje, 27 May 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova met Monday with the Ambassador of Switzerland to North Macedonia, Véronique Hulmann Marti, her office said in a press release.

Interlocutors exchanged views on the overall bilateral cooperation between both counties, united by a traditional and genuine friendship based on cooperation and mutual respect.

"President Siljanovska Davkova said that Switzerland, with whom we will be celebrating 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties this year, is our great friend and genuine ally in the process of fulfilling our foreign political goals and priorities," the press release reads.

During the meeting, President Siljanovska Davkova highlighted the importance of Swiss support for Macedonian institutions, central and local, as well as civil society, and stressed that we especially appreciate the fact that Switzerland is our largest bilateral donator.

She also highlighted the need for further strengthening economic cooperation, though the improvement of trade exchange, and increasing Swiss investments.

Meeting participants also discussed the Macedonian diaspora in Switzerland as an important aspect in the overall development of the ties between both countries. ssh/ba/
