President Siljanovska Davkova meets Slovak Ambassador Markus

Skopje, 24 June 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova met Monday with the Ambassador of Slovakia, Henrik Markus, discussing bilateral ties and opportunities to improve cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
President Siljanovska Davkova said that bilateral ties are defined through friendship and understanding and that both countries have strong cultural ties due to Cyril and Methodius' legacy, the President's Office said in a press release.
She also thanked for Slovakia and Visegrád Group's upstanding support as traditional supporters of Macedonian EU integration process and NATO partner, while highlighting that this year marks the 30th anniversary since establishing diplomatic relations with Slovakia.
In the direction of strengthening cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, the President noted that there has been evident growth in trade exchange, which is an opportunity to achieve greater success in the future if both sides are engaged. She added that intensifying bilateral and political dialogue is also of great importance. ssh/ik/
